  1. Russia Government Scholarships
  • Russia is one of the few countries in the world that offers foreign citizens the opportunity to pursue their studies without paying tuition fees.
  • The Russian Government awards several scholarships or quotas to foreign students every year.
  • The scholarships apply to all undergraduate fields of study in Russia.
  • Recipients are entitled to free tuition, a maintenance allowance and dorm accommodation (where available).
  1. Danish Government Scholarships
  • Every year, Danish universities receive a limited number of government scholarships for students from non-EU/EEA countries and Switzerland.
  • These scholarships fund the education of highly qualified full degree international students from non-EU/EEA countries, and Switzerland.
  • The Danish higher education institutions administer these scholarships, i.e. they conduct the selection process, and award the scholarships.
  • This scholarship is given in two parts – as either a full or partial tuition fee waiver, and/or a grant to cover living costs.
  1. Chinese Government Scholarships
  • The Chinese Government has set up a series of scholarship programs with the aim of sponsoring international students, scholars, and teachers to study and conduct research in Chinese universities.
  • The Bilateral Scholarship Program, in particular, gives full or partial scholarships in accordance with the education agreements between the Chinese Government and governments of other countries, universities, institutions and international organizations.
  • Recipients of these scholarships get to study in any of the 279 designated Chinese universities.
  • The scholarship entitles the recipients to a tuition fee waiver, a monthly stipend, accommodation, a settlement subsidy, a return air ticket, and outpatient medical services.
  1. Korean Government Scholarships
  • The Korean Government provides international students with the opportunity to pursue undergraduate programs at higher educational institutions in the Republic of Korea.
  • This scholarship program was set up with the intention of promoting international exchanges in education and mutual friendship with partner countries.
  • The scholarship applies to four-year programs available at selected universities.
  • .Recipients of this scholarship receive an economy class airfare, a monthly allowance, a settlement allowance, and medical insurance. Tuition fees are waivered by the university.
  1. Slovak Government Scholarships
  • The Ministry of Education, Science, Research, and Sport of the Slovak Republic funds the National Scholarship Program, which is currently open to international students from developing countries.
  • This prestigious scholarship gives students from specific developing countries the opportunity to pursue full-time studies at any public university in the Slovak Republic.
  • This scholarship applies to bachelors, masters and Ph.D. programs.
  • The scholarship entitles recipients to a monthly scholarship grant, a one-time stipend, accommodation, and a language and vocational course.
  1. York University Undergraduate Scholarships
  • York University is currently Canada’s third-largest university and provides applicants with a wide variety of courses to choose from.
  • The International Entrance Scholarship was established to cater for international undergraduate applicants
  • Recipients of this scholarship are selected based on academic excellence, leadership qualities, exceptional community service and individual achievement.
  • Scholarships for international students amount to $35,000 per year for four years, totaling $140,000.
  • Once you apply for this scholarship, you receive automatic consideration for all other available international scholarships at the university.
  1. Ashinaga Africa Undergraduate Scholarships
  • Ashinaga is a Japan-based non-profit organization that provides educational and emotional support to orphaned students in Africa.
  • This initiative provides orphaned students with education, networks, and opportunities necessary for them to become leaders in their home countries.
  • Ashinaga sends students to higher education institutions abroad, and finances their undergraduate education while they are there.
  • This scholarship covers tuition, accommodation, travel costs, and other fees related to the study program.
  • These scholarships apply to all fields of undergraduate study. .
  1. Beijing Government Scholarships
  • This scholarship scheme was established by the Beijing Municipal Government, with the aim of providing full or partial tuition fee scholarships to international students already studying or applying for study in Beijing.
  • Specialties for study are chosen from Chinese institutions of higher education located in Beijing.
  • Though this scholarship only covers tuition fees, it is still a great study opportunity.
  1. Need-Blind Admissions (Schools Awarding Financial Need-Blind Admissions Aid)
  • This is an admissions policy in which a college or university will admit students regardless of their ability to pay. For any students who cannot afford the basic price tag, the university awards scholarships and other forms of institutional aid to make up the difference. Several US schools now offer need-blind admissions to international students. If you can get in, you can afford to go. Some of them are:

  • The MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program provides students who are committed to giving back to their communities with access to higher education.
  • Beneficiaries of this program receive holistic financial, academic and emotional support for the duration of the course.
  • MasterCard scholars are trained in entrepreneurship, leadership development and life skills.
  • The scholars are encouraged to develop the Give-Back Component through volunteer and community services.
  • The MasterCard Scholarships are quite comprehensive, including tuition fees, uniform, books and supplies, transport, accommodation and stipend.
  • There are several participating institutions within the African continent, including Egerton University in Kenya, Gulu University in Uganda and KNUST in Ghana.
