Welcome to International Scholarships
Yes you can obtain a scholarship – it is possible!!
It is not easy and you will have to work hard to meet your goal but the possibility of a free education does exist. Diligence on your part in the scholarship search and application can result in finding that perfect scholarship.
Determine that you will spend countless hours on the internet and considerable time writing essays and filling out applications.
LET ME TELL YOU TRUTH – Please don’t think that with a couple of simple emails you will find a sponsor or a scholarship – It is really hard work that will take a long time and you must be committed before you start the process.
When it comes to searching for college scholarships you need to make sure you are aware of all the places you can find them. Some are offered locally and others by the colleges – with these you must be accepted there before you can apply. Regional, state, national and international college scholarships exist as well. The key to finding them is to look at these various entities and be sure you are aware of what each one has to offer.
Scholarships are available across broad areas of interest, background, and skills. These include:
- academic performance,
- athletic skills,
- financial need,
- religious affiliation,
- minority status,
- achievements,
- community affiliations,
- demonstrated leadership potential and
- community service/ volunteerism.
FEELING OVERWHELMED
Don’t be discouraged by the overwhelming amount of scholarship materials available.
It is a daunting process – so many scholarships, so many websites and so many options – it is hard to know where to start and what to do first.
So the next question would be, how will you be able to get your hands on some of this money to finance your college education? I have been hosting this website for years and have watched many students makes these mistakes. So, here are few initial things that I recommend to you – ignore them at your own peril.
1. Start your search the early.
Don’t wait until you are in your final year to find the source of these free scholarships. Please don’t wait till the last minute and then scramble desperately for a scholarship – that does not work. Start early and plan ahead.
2. Study very hard.
If you can’t meet the language requirements or just have average grades – sorry, you will not get an international scholarship. These awards are extremely competitive and citizens from around the world compete to receive them. Average grades, little community involvement and no significant accomplishments will not get you a scholarship. You have to be outstanding and be able to separate yourself from the crowd.
3. Don’t waste hours and money searching internet.
Most scholarships website are all the same. They list (or post) scholarships and do NOT offer them. So when you search you are just finding the same thing over and over again. It is not worth it. International Scholarships is better. We list only the best scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students. You don’t need to spend hours searching 100’s of website. We provide the best of the best opportunities.
4. Don’t expect to personally communicate with the organization/school offering the scholarship.
These university and colleges get thousands of emails from students wanted scholarships – they just don’t respond. The scholarship application process is a totally impersonal one. You have to read the material and follow all the instructions. You are on your own and they won’t help you.
5. Beware of the many scams on the Internet
if a website is charging you money, this is likely just a con – move on.
Also a word of WARNING – I receive your email address when you post a comment and it is safe with me. So DO NOT post your email address or phone number in the comments box – scammers will use this information to send you false offers. If you get a call or an email from someone promising you a free scholarship – Ignore it. It’s a scam.
Well, have I scared you off – I hope not – if you are a strong student and are ready to work hard. Then let’s get started. Here’s what I recommend for your first steps.
