ALGANT

  • Established in 2004, the ALGANT consortium now consists of eight universities on four continents, namely the universities of Bordeaux (France), Chennai (India), Leiden (Netherlands), Milano (Italy), Concordia (Montréal, Canada), Padova (Italy), Paris-Sud (France) and Stellenbosch (South Africa).
  • In collaboration with the Centre de Recherches Mathématiques, the Institut des Sciences Mathématiques in Montréal and the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences in Cape Town, the consortium offers a two-year world-class integrated master course and a joint doctorate programme in pure mathematics, with a strong emphasis on Algebra, Geometry and Number Theory. Both programmes have received the Erasmus Mundus label.
  • Since its launch in 2005, seven rounds have started in which ALGANT Master welcomed more than 150 students, from over 30 states as diverse as Australia, Belgium, Canada, China, Colombia, Ecuador, Ethiopia, France, India, Indonesia, Iran, Israel, Italy, Lebanon, Malaysia, Mexico, Montenegro, Nepal, Netherlands, Nigeria, Peru, Russia, Senegal, Serbia, South Africa, Syria, Taiwan, Turkey, Ukraine, United States of America, Venezuela, Vietnam.

UCLA Department of Mathematics Undergraduate Merit Scholarship

  • is awarded to an incoming freshman who has an exceptional background and promise in mathematics.  The scholarship covers tuition, fees as well as room and board.  It is anticipated that one new scholarship be awarded every year, starting in Fall 2010.

The scholarship.

The award is renewable for four years, subject to the following requirements:

  • Maintain satisfactory and timely academic progress towards their degree and remain in good academic standing.
  • Maintain at least a 3.5 GPA in mathematics courses
  • Declare a mathematics major upon admission and remain in the major
  • Pass the basic exam by the end of their third year of studies
  • To continue their scholarship for the fourth year, the applicants must apply and be accepted into the Departmental Scholars Program, which leads to a simultaneous Bachelors (BS) and Masters (MA) degrees.

Scholarship recipients follow a specialized advanced program of studies, including individual study with UCLA Mathematics professors.

Eligibility Requirements and application process.

  • 12th grader (or equivalent) applying to UCLA for admission for the Fall quarter.
  • Outstanding academic record and standardized test scores.
  • Evidence of exceptional background and promise in mathematics.  Such evidence includes placing in the top 25% in the U.S.A. Mathematics Olympiad (USAMO) or comparable (International Mathematics Olympiad level) performance on a similar national competition.
  • Strong preference will be given to International Mathematics Olympiad medalists.
  • Applicant must also submit the official UCLA admissions application by its deadline (this year, November 30th).

University of Twente Graduate Scholarships

  • The University of Twente offers scholarships possibilities for excellent students from both EU/EEA as well as non-EU/EEA countries enrolling in UT graduate programmes. These scholarships vary from government grants to funding by organizations or private persons. In addition, faculties and the University of Twente Scholarship Foundation offer a limited number of scholarships to excellent students.

Skoltech M.Sc. Fellowships – Russian Scholarship Program

  •  The Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (Skoltech) provides an internationally competitive graduate fellowship to individuals who wish to pursue research in scientific, technological, and entrepreneurial fields.
