General Eligibility Criteria:

  • You must be applying for September entry.
  • You must be an international student who is required to have a Study Permit for Canada.
  • You must be applying to the first year of a full-time undergraduate degree program in one of the following Faculties: Arts, Atkinson Faculty of Liberal & Professional Studies, Environmental Studies, Fine Arts, Glendon, Health, Science & Engineering, Schulich School of Business.
  • You must possess an excellent academic record (“A” average or equivalent).

Scholarships Awarded through an application/assessment process

  • Below is a listing of scholarships and brief outline of eligibility criteria. The deadline for scholarship application submission is March 15.
  • This single Application form (in Adobe PDF format) is used to apply for all of these scholarships.
  • All applicants must meet the general eligibility criteria listed above as well as:
  • Accomplishments such as community service or excellence in the arts, sports or other areas of individual achievement.
  • You must have graduated from high school within the past two years.
  • Required application documentation.

The Global Leader of Tomorrow Award (4)

  • $15,000 renewable for four years (total = $60,000)
  • Highest academic average
  • Nomination by high school
  • Leadership and demonstrated skills
  • To renew – must have a high academic standing (7.8 on a 9-point York scale) in each academic year at York

York’s International Scholarship Program for Africa (4)

  • $100,000 ($25,000 x 4 years)
  • Citizen of an African country
  • To renew — maintain high academic standing (7.8 on a 9-point York scale) in each academic year at York

York’s International Scholarship Program for the Caribbean (3)

  • $100,000 ($25,000 x 4 years)
  • Citizen of the Caribbean
  • To renew — maintain high academic standing (7.8 on a 9-point York scale) in each academic year at York

York’s United World College Scholarship (1)

  • $100,000 ($25,000 x 4 years)
  • Enrolled in a United World College
  • To renew — maintain a high academic standing (7.8 on a 9-point York scale) in each academic year at York

International “Circle of Scholars” Scholarship program for the Caribbean, Mexico, Central America or South America (5)

  • $10,000 (first year of study)
  • Citizen of the Caribbean, Mexico, Central America, or South America
  • Preference given to those living in the Caribbean, Mexico, Central America, or South America

    Am a high school graduate, who had four (b) and two(c), a (d) but unfortunately failed in mathematics. i will be writing my mathematics again on the 17th of October 2009. After which i will be in the house for ten months. i studied at NIIT and graduated with an excellent gpa of 3.25. i need a scholarship to study law in a university abroad. i really need cause i love to be in school.

    This is a wonderful offer you are giving us. I am a kenyan aged 30, I have a Certificate and Diploma in Civil Engineering. I got admission to loughborough University Uk, and later portsmouth, Uk but i could not get a sponsor. Determined, moved to south Africa in search of work to raise fees for 4 years now still nothing on sight.
