Cornell – The Institute for African Development (IAD) Tuition Fellowship Award
- is a one-year non-renewable and non-extendable fellowship awarded on a competitive basis to graduate students from sub Saharan Africa. Offered on an annual basis, the fellowship covers tuition and fees for one academic year, but does not cover travel, living, or other expenses associated with studying at Cornell. Recipients of the fellowship need to show additional financial support from other sources to cover travel and living expenses, as well as tuition for additional years of study at Cornell.
- Citizens of African countries accepted to Cornell for graduate study in any of the eleven fields of study are eligible for the award. Good candidates from sub Saharan Africa are encouraged to apply for the fellowship award.
George Washington University – THE GLOBAL LEADERSHIP PROGRAM
- This graduate fellowship program aims to develop and/or strengthen the professional capabilities of Fellows who will return to their countries of origin to apply those skills learned through their formal education at The George Washington University. The Program is intended for students who will be future leaders in their fields in their home countries. Ten Graduate Fellowships, which will cover full tuition and credit hour fees, will be awarded for 2008-09. The grantee is to provide funds from other sources for books, living, and other expenses, equivalent to a minimum of $18,130 for 12 months, and must provide certification of this support. Students from the following countries or regions (chosen based on protocol arrangements and areas of the world underrepresented at GW) are eligible to apply: China (PRC), Cambodia, Eastern Europe, Laos, Latin America, The Caribbean, Mongolia, Sub-Saharan Africa, U.S.S.R. Successor States and Vietnam.
Shell Centenary Scholarship Fund (TSCSF)
- In October 1997, the “Shell” Transport and Trading Company, plc celebrated its centenary. In order to mark this in a lasting and meaningful way, the Royal Dutch/ Shell Group of Companies established “the Shell Centenary Scholarship Fund” as a charity which funds Shell Centenary Scholarships. These scholarships support educational advancement and co-operation worldwide by providing opportunities for graduate students from overseas to study in the United Kingdom. The Fund’s aim is to provide, each year, at least 65 full cost scholarships to international students on one year taught postgraduate courses at seven of the UK’s leading universities: Cambridge, Durham, Edinburgh, Imperial College London, Oxford and University College London. Each full-cost scholarship will cover tuition, accommodation, maintenance costs and return airfare for the scholarship holder only. The scholarship application opens annually from October to March.
