Equity and Merit Scholarships for students from Bangladesh, Rwanda and Uganda

Scholarship Overview

Equity and Merit Scholarships aim to assist talented but economically disadvantaged students from some of the world’s poorest countries.
Scholarships are available for students to undertake postgraduate masters degrees that are not available in their home country and which are intended to fill a particular skills gap. Awards are also available for study by distance learning.

Field(s) of Study

Scholarships are available in a wide range of subjects including Engineering, Environment, Medical and Life Sciences, Law and Education.

What does the scholarship cover?

The scholarships cover full tuition fees, return international air fares and living expenses.

How many scholarships are given?

To date, 85 students have received support to undertake Masters degrees (full-time or online) and more than 250 students have received awards to study in their home country on a University-validated programme.

Which countries are targeted?

Bangladesh, Rwanda and Uganda
In 2013/14 we are offering scholarships for the following distance learning programmes to applicants form Tanzania for a Master of Public Health (MPH)

Am I Eligible to Apply?

Applicants must also:

Be a resident citizen of specified country and have not previously studied abroad;
Have a minimum overall IELTS score of 6.5.
