What does the scholarship cover?

  • Tuition fees paid directly to the university by the Swedish Institute
  • Living expenses of SEK 10,000/month
  • Travel grant of SEK 15,000 given as a one-time payment
  • Insurance against illness and accident
  • Membership of the SI Network for Future Global Leaders (NFGL) – a platform to help with professional growth and building of networks while in Sweden
  • Membership of the SI Alumni Network after the scholarship period

  • 300 scholarships will be available for full-time master’s degree studies

  • Bangladesh, Bolivia, Brazil, Cambodia, Cameroon, Colombia,
  • Ecuador, Egypt, Ethiopia, Gambia, Ghana, Guatemala, Honduras,
  • Indonesia, Jordan, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, Morocco, Myanmar (Burma),
  • Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Rwanda, Sri Lanka,
  • Sudan, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda, Vietnam, Zambia, Zimbabwe

Am I Eligible to Apply?

To qualify for this scholarship, you must:

  • Be a citizen of a country that is eligible for the scholarship program
  • Have a minimum of 3000 hours of demonstrated employment
  • Be liable to pay fees in a Swedish university
  • Have followed all the steps to university admission and been admitted to a master’s program
  • Have been admitted to one of the eligible master’s programs
  • Should be able to demonstrate leadership experience from either a current or previous employer

How do I Apply – Next Steps

  • First, you must apply for and secure a place in a master’s program in Sweden.
  • Next, apply for the Swedish Institute Global Scholarship.
  • Selection results will be finalized by 3 April 2020.
  • Wait for the final announcement listing the 300 successful applicants.
