- The Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme was established by the Hungarian Government to promote the internationalization of Hungarian higher education. It was founded by the Hungarian Government in 2013 and is supervised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and managed by the Tempus Public Foundation.

What does the scholarship cover?
Recipients of this scholarship are entitled to:
- Tuition-free education
- A monthly stipend (for non-degree, bachelor’s, and master’s level) of HUF 43,700 (approximately €103) as a contribution to living expenses for the full duration of the course.
- Accommodation contribution – a free dormitory place or a contribution of HUF 40,000 per month to cater for accommodation costs for the duration of the scholarship period.

Am I Eligible to Apply?
To qualify for this scholarship, you must:
- Be a citizen of one of the eligible countries
- Have a secondary school graduation certificate if applying for a bachelor’s degree program
- Have an excellent academic record
- Have a bachelor’s degree if applying for a master’s degree program
- Have a master’s degree if applying for a doctoral degree
- Be at least 18 years old by August 31, 2023
- Be nominated by the responsible authorities in your Sending Partner country
- Must be a citizen of your sending partner country
How do I Apply – Next Steps
- First, select the program of your choice. This program should be offered at any of the 28 Hungarian higher education institutions that offer the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarships.
- Next, contact your Sending Partner and inform them of your intention to apply for a scholarship.
- Register on the online application system of Tempus Public Foundation, where you will be able to access the application system for the scholarship and upload the required documents.
- Ensure that you submit your application before the application deadline.
