RakkilaQareebRahman says
Dear Sir/Madam
My name is Rakila, a young girl from Afghanistan. I write this message from a place of pain, helplessness, and fading hope — yet with one last light still alive in my heart: the hope that your noble institution might hear my voice.
When the Taliban returned to power, darkness once again fell upon our lives. They closed the doors of our schools and universities to girls, silenced our dreams, and erased the hopes we had worked for all our lives. They have forced us out of classrooms, banned us from work and public spaces, and turned our homes into silent prisons of sorrow.
Before this tragedy, I had succeeded in passing the national university entrance exam (Kankor) and had been accepted into the Faculty of Medicine. Only a few days were left before my university classes were to begin — days I was counting with excitement and pride. Becoming a doctor was my dream — not just for myself, but to serve my people and my country.
But then, suddenly, everything collapsed. The Taliban took control, and the gates of the university that I had waited so long to enter were shut before my eyes. My books, my white coat, my dreams — all were left behind in silence. I found myself confined at home, watching the light of my ambitions fade away in the darkness that now surrounds every Afghan girl.
Today, I am writing to you not out of strength, but from a deep sense of desperation and hope. I humbly and sincerely ask your institution to please consider helping me continue my education — perhaps by providing an opportunity to study outside Afghanistan, or by offering any possible support or guidance that could make it possible for me to rebuild my future through education.
Education was my only dream, and though everything around me has turned to darkness, I still believe in one thing — that somewhere in this world, compassion and kindness still exist. I believe that your institution, which stands for education, humanity, and hope, might be the one to lift me out of this silence.
Please, if there is any way you can assist me — through a scholarship, sponsorship, or pathway to continue my medical studies abroad — I would be forever grateful. I am not asking for luxury or comfort, only for a chance to learn, to serve, and to live with dignity.
Thank you for taking the time to read my plea, and for everything you do for young students in challenging circumstances. I will hold onto this last light of hope, praying that it might reach your kind hearts.
With deepest respect and gratitude,
Rakila
