  • The purpose of the DAFI Programme is to contribute to the self-reliance of refugees by providing them with a professional qualification for future employment. Scholarships are granted only for studies in the country of asylum. Preferably, UNHCR would like to see the graduates return home and contribute to the reconstruction of their home country, or to the development of the country of asylum or the refugee community at large.

CARA – Refugee Academic Grants

  • Grants aim to enable refugee academics achieve employment in the UK at a level commensurate with their skills and experience in the long term. Grants can support refugee academics to re-qualify in a range of professions in the UK such as teaching, academia, engineering, law, the charity sector and medicine.
  • CARA holds 2 grant rounds a year, with deadlines for applications every June and December. Decisions on applications are made two months after the deadlines. For details of the next grant application deadline please see ‘Call for Applications’.

    Dear sir,

I am a Nigerian, now a refugee claimant in Canada. I am well educated, hold a Degree equivalent in Mechanical Engineering Technology in one of the famous Polytechnics in Nigeria, I graduated as the overall best student ever (with a grade point 3.80 of 4) within my academic cohort. I have been successful in all my academic gradings and industrial experience. The passion I have for standard education makes me to decide to further unto my Professional career to become an Industrial Engineer or related profession in the nearest future.

I would be glad if you could link me up to a scholarship to enable me pursue my career yet further, so that in returns I would be able to reflect back to the society.

Thank you in anticipation, and I would be looking forward to reading from you.

    This is Prof. Mike Ezra.

    Dear refugees……..

This forum is not an application page so that you can ask for grants. It is entirly an information and interaction page so please do not tell your story because nobody cares what you wrote here. Instead contact the institutions and grant organisations stated above directly via email or so and get a reply.

Otherwise posting your comments on this page is simply a waste of time.

    Regards
