KAAD Scholarship Program – Germany

Robert McNamara/EADB Graduate Scholarship in Development Studies
- offers three scholarships each year to citizens who wish to pursue studies leading to a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Development Studies in a recognized institution of higher learning in East Africa. Each scholarship covers tuition fees, subsistence allowance, travel, and other related expenses. Successful applicants must study in an institution outside their country of origin.

Fulbright Program for Foreign Students
- Kenyan scholars who wish to apply for Fulbright awards to conduct research in the United States can do so under two programs, the African Senior Research Program (ASRP) and the Professional Development Program (PDP).
- ASRP awards enable chosen candidates to conduct three to nine months of Post-doctoral scholarly or applied research during one academic year at an academic or research institution in the United States.
- PDP grants allow candidates to undertake three to five months of a planned program of reading and research at a U.S. institution; “Proposals under this program should be linked to professional duties (teaching, advising, administration).
- Programs involving doctoral dissertation research or general professional travel are not accepted. Both programs are for research or reading and research only and do not include lecturing. Thus, lecturing should not be part of the project statement.
- will roll out the second stage of a major development initiative in eastern and southern Africa, launching a new scholarship scheme with the Government of Kenya for five PhD students.

University of Sydney World Scholars
- From 2009, up to 20 new full tuition fee PhD scholarships will be available per annum for international students. Scholarships will cover the full cost of tuition fees for three years. i am kevin from botswana in southren africa with a bsc in agric education. my gpa was 3.3. m concerned with the youth of my country , they cannot appraiss and evaluate an enterprise that will win them a loan from government financial schemes. so as a teacher i hv realised that this students are wel equiped with skills on how to produce but whats lacking out of them is the carefull useage of monetary aspects and risk taking. i hv came with a solution, which is simply msc of economics of which will stand mi a chance to help ma community become their own managers so simple. so m asking for scholarship to go and pursue ma dream course. i am ready to go anytime as from now. remember i am a hardworker with good results.

I am Darwin Ambuka a 24 year old Kenyan male, By the grace of God I was admitted in Kampala international University in Uganda for a degree in medicine and surgery after finishing a diploma in clinical medicine from Mbale in Uganda. My dad is a missionary and mother a primary school teacher. am first born of 5 and two of my younger siblings both in the university. my parents have a great challenge on paying my school fees. The cost of study is about 6000 Us dollars, the course is 5 and a half years. I am a Kenyan who completed my bachelors in theology degree in 2005 and currently registered at the Adventist University in Nairobi for a masters in leadership, i need financial assistance as am the sole bread winner in my house and currently overloaded.
