What does the scholarship cover?
- The financial aid policies for foreign citizens are exactly the same as those for U.S. citizens. All aid is need-based, and admissions decisions are made without regard to whether an applicant has applied for financial assistance.
- When you apply for aid, we work directly with your family and factor in additional expenses for international students. Harvard meets each family’s demonstrated need.
How many scholarships are given?
- Anyone who is accepted
Which countries are targeted?
- ALL
- There are no quotas or limits of any kind at any point in the admissions process. All students are considered in the same pool for all places in the incoming class, regardless of citizenship or the secondary school they attend. A student’s chances for admission and financial aid are not affected by citizenship or by the location of the school that the student attends.
Am I Eligible to Apply?
- Each applicant to Harvard College is considered with great care. While there is no formula for gaining admission, we hope you will explore the information in this section to understand what we look for in our holistic admissions process.
- We seek promising students who will contribute to the Harvard community during their college years, and to society throughout their lives.
- While academic accomplishment is important, the Admissions Committee considers many other factors—strong personal qualities, special talents or excellences of all kinds, perspectives formed by unusual personal circumstances, and the ability to take advantage of available resources and opportunities.

I was born in a rural part of Zambia ,and am still working in a rural part of zambia, because am concerned and like to provide my service in those areas.I graduated in 2007 /BEST practical nurse, most of my intake mates have left zambia for greener pasture but me i want to continue my community who are in need. Zambia particularly is facing alot of problem in terms of human resource in the health sector because at the moment we only have one public university offering this training(GOVERNMENT SPONSORED).and the competition is too high especially for the same programme. Right now where am working we only have one medical Dr catering for 150,000 population, hence it has continued paining me and also making uncomfortable to see the workload and the number of paitients being unsatisfied/.
My dream is to pursue medicine eithe Dr of MEDICINE or Dr of DENTISTRY.But am failing to meet my dream because looking at what am getting is too low (less than 400 us dollars per month) .Because i have to pay for my rentals above 120 us dollars, looking after my dependants and other necessity.
Right now ihave been offered a place at Lusaka Apex Medical University to pursue BSC Nursing/ In Ugand at Ugand Christian University to pursue the same programme (BSC Nursing),because of financially handcapped am unable to take up those opportunities.
Am the person who want to study hard for the benefit of my poor community . kindly anyone/ individual, organization, harvad university and to whom it may concern prove yourself by awarding me only scholarship to enable me pursue medicine(TUTION FEES,ACCOMODATION,AIR TICKET AND MEAL),I DONT NEED LUXURY THINGS (BUT ONLY EDUCATION).
INVEST YOUR RESOURCES IN EDUCTION TO RESPONSIBLE PEOPLE .

MY TRUE STORY
Since I have been having sleepless nights about my dear bright future, one day I learnt how to use the internet….then I got a helper called SAMUEL who sends me messages about sponsorship as my requests stated to him….
Now my story…
The biting satire
I was born in 1988 to a family of 14 when my dad was in his early 40s…He got married to two women that time in 1988…and from my mum the second wife, I was 5th born but now 3rd…Then when at the age of 15 he married his 3rd wife…
Any way that’s part of my problem because from the” frying pan, into the fire” describes my own state of life….in the family which made me to go and stay with other relatives who offered me a good stay…
This is simply because my education life and future has been jeopardized with seriously and I have been scratching my head for answers on how life would be remarkable on my side since only “home is not home.”
Still am faced with the common African problems in polygamous families though I never blame my dad because he was born in a time which states that greater possibility, that is, “marry many and extend the clan says our grand mum as told in stories”….my father.., He was a driver and became a business man of that time of which….. I didn’t meet the good times as people said but rather “the tougher troubled days”…because still within the family there lived to be a bigger problem since each mother wanted her own children to be treated better than the rest or others as they say…..it continues in such ways until wickedness or destruction comes into their mind for their own husband’s home and the wind takes them very far only to realize when its “too little too late”….this is the other side of my fathers family.
Most painful to me is when ever I see my aging dad looking after his numerous grand children who need equal treatment as us or more ….
Haa…the kids need food… and all basic needs including education but the most funny part of it is when sent to school, they would sit in the same class for more than three years before passing onto the next class or they would be PUSHED to the next class and fail and fail…..so then for us who lacked the fees.., we would struggle and pass very well…though I always find my fees being paid last at school and that had been the biggest injustice to me…ie”they can clear fees for others and leave mine not cleared my book title for that will be.. “GOT RIDDEN OF HIS FATHER”……
Now, money, energy from dad is not there. His mind is crowded with problems, problems and issues…..just trouble from his last wife adding on to the old scars then it goes extremely higher….am scared too but he loves advising me about school though he can’t afford even to pay for due to the problems of finances..”I have many children but they refused going to school when a lot of money was there for them…now u struggle as he would always tell me.,
Friends have helped me up to certificate level in Makerere university business school for one year and completed since June 24th, 2011 this year….then, I WILL TRY OUT MY LUCK.
Dear helpers, I have a very long, long story…but we will share more of that…
In brief, am grateful to those teachers for that I have learned all along in hard times.”I have learned silence from the talkative, tolerance from the intolerant and kindness from the unkind “
I pray that the little knowledge I have got will create a renewed hope, passion and courage to pursue that which might have been discarded for in my family in order to remake myself, think big, so that I may become a better person than I am today to bring a change into the world.
I would just rejoice if you make me considered to free my mind….to prove my talents in me …it is my promise…I believe greatness will come one day….To use my home as an example and bring a change in the world where I will be.
Thanks for listening or going through my part of story but one day a door or a window will open for me. Please do me a favour.
Yours in need
BATALI BOSCO
