A good opportunity but not one of the best
Why Georgia College?
We are one of U.S. News and World Report’s Top 15 public universities in the south. And the Kaplan/Newsweek College Guide names Georgia College as one of the country’s most academically competitive universities. More than 40 majors are offered in undergraduate and graduate programs in the Schools of Liberal Arts & Sciences, Business, Education, and Health Sciences. Georgia College is accredited through the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Universities and Schools, and all programs are accredited through their specific authorities.
Georgia College welcomes international students and the diverse backgrounds they bring to our campus, and encourages all students to study abroad.
We assist international students through the admissions process, as well as provide information and counseling to the more than 100 enrolled international students from 50 countries on non-immigrant student visa regulations and processes, medical insurance, housing, financial and work issues, adjustment to life in the U.S. and academic concerns.
International Student Scholarships (ISS)
- These scholarships are awarded as either a full out-of-state tuition waiver or a half out-of-state tuition waiver, and are awarded on the basis of demonstrated academic ability, evidence of extra-curricular involvement and financial need. To be considered for the ISS, applicants must have on file a completed application for admission and completed ISS application by the stated deadline. Those international students who have not been awarded an ISS prior to attendance at GCSU can compete once a year for a limited number of available ISSs. Applications for the International Student Scholarship are included in the International Student Undergraduate Application for Admission form. Click here to download the application.
Scholarships for Incoming Freshmen
- Students who are admitted by February 1 for fall semester are automatically considered for most academic scholarships. Those students who apply by November 1 are given preference. The selection process is highly competitive. For more information, click here.
