I am Tesfaye Mehari from Ethiopia. I have been graduated from Arba Minch University (Institute of Technology ) in Applied Geology on 2,June,2011. I stayed in the university four years in studying geology.During my stay in the university, I took all geology and related courses which have been designed for bachelor degree program.Having taken all the courses, I knew and understood what earth science in general and geology in particular are. Since geology is field oriented department, I am familiar in field works because I have experienced in the three petrologies (sedimentary petrology, igneous petrology and metamorphic petrology). Geologists spend most of their lives in field works as it is must to know and understand how earth was operating, is operating and will operate in the future in real world. From field works it seems reasonable enough to conclude that our planet earth is the combination product of the three petrologic processes. Moreover, I have built up my understanding about earth sciences with my B.SC thesis project. My B.SC thesis project was on “The Investigation and Exploration of Suitable Quarry Sites”. From the thesis I not only investigated and explored suitable quarry sites but also I knew the engineering properties of construction materials. During my stay in the university I engaged in environmental club called “Rift Valley Club”. This club is all about how to manage and sustain our planet earth at least and the universe at large. In this club I have not only contributed my share to keep the environment free of pollution but also I have strengthened further my knowledge about geology. I have also involved in some charity clubs such as HIV/AIDS and Anti-corruption clubs while I was in the university.Currently, I am working as an instructor in Haramaya University,Ethiopia.
We humans can live on the planet earth as long as the earth is breathing well. It seems strange and uncommon to someone to deal with the breathing system of earth because breathing always is associated with living things, but in real situation earth breaths. I wonder anyone who can feel and understand how earth is breathing in and out. This is not as simple as the breathing system of living things.Every one can feel and understand the breathing system of living things, but the only specialists who can feel, listen, understand and treat the breathing system of earth are geologists. All the processes taking place in the subsurface of the earth are gradual and obscured to humans. That is why we are unable to feel and understand how earth is breathing in and out. Many years back, people had no more knowledge and awareness about the processes taking place in the interior of the earth. The present hot and burning issue that every nation gives due attention is the world’s climate change and the resulted global warming. Many scholars have said a lot for the causes climate change but what is common for scholars is that they are suggesting the causes of climate change to be only surfacial processes and actions like desertification, deforestation, flooding, land degradation etc. These processes and actions indeed have direct influences to climate change. However, geoscientists now days are explaining how the internal processes of the earth contribute to climate change. As geoscientists explanation, the world’s climate change is the cumulative effect of both internal and external processes and actions. While earth breaths out, there are a number of materials which evolve to the surface of the earth. All materials which have been released to the surface are not friendly to the environment in which we are living. Some materials can affect life directly while others pollute the environment so that they can be the major causes to climate change.
To keep the eco-geological system of the earth balance, equilibrium and operate, therefore requires deep and detail understanding of the lungs and heart of earth. Humans without lungs and heart are nothing so does earth. Cardial specialists of humans are responsible to humans because they have knowledge how to treat heart, the motor of life. But geoscientists have responsibility not only to ordinary people but also to cardial specialists of humans because they are specialists of interior of earth in particular and earth in general on which people are living. Earth can be alive if and only if earth scientists are involved in the study of interiors of earth to listen its heart beat. I am always in dream to be the cardial specialists of earth. I stayed crawling with my four legs but this is the right time to erect and continue walking. Here I am standing at the beginning of my life trucks through which I am running to catch my dreams. Here are my stretched hands to the concerned body (to whom I am applying) to make my dream true and real.what i am requesting now is to have my master and to dig through it in the fields of geology or in any other related fields. My request is suspended in the air and I will be glad if my request is being welcomed.

    Best regards,
    Tesfaye M.
