Erasmus Mundus Minerals and Environmental Programme (EMMEP)

• is a 2 year M.Sc. program for students in Mining / Geotechnical Engineering, Mineral Processing, Recycling and related academic studies. There are three different specialisations; accommodating groups with 15 to 20 students each.
• Joining the EMMEP program is an excellent opportunity to study abroad with a group of international students.
• Applications for the 2010-2012 Program have now been closed. For the 2011-2013 programme, applications from Non-European Students can be submitted until November 1st, 2010. European Students can apply until April 1st, 2011.

Ericsson Scholarship – Chalmers University

La Trobe University – Civil Engineering Scholarship

• This scholarship is available to outstanding international high school graduates (70% or above in year 12, or equivalent). The purpose of this scholarship is to attract students to study a Bachelor of Civil Engineering at La Trobe’s regional campus in Bendigo. It offers the opportunity for students to work in a region which currently faces a skill shortage of civil engineers.
• The scholarship, worth $20 000 over 4 years (or $5 000 per year, subject to satisfactory progress) will be offered to all students who meet the entry requirements and accept an offer to study the Bachelor of Civil Engineering at the Bendigo campus starting in Semester 1 (March) 2012.
• Students applying for this scholarship must meet the following English language requirements:
• IELTS – a minimum overall band score of 6.0 with no individual band less than 6.0, or
• TOEFL – a minimum score of 550 with a score of 5 or better in the test of written English, or
• TOEFL – a minimum score of 233 with a score of 5 in essay writing.
• How to apply – Applicants must complete a scholarship application form and submit it to s.synan@latrobe.edu.au with a copy of their offer letter.

Masdar Institute of Science and Technology

Full scholarship is available to qualified talented students who meet its high admission standards which include appropriate TOEFL score, GRE and an excellent CGPA from a recognized university. A minimum CGPA of 3.0 (on a 4 point scale) or 2:1 in the British system, minimum TOEFL score of 577 (91 on the IBT) or academic IELTS (min 6.5), and a minimum GRE quantitative score of 700 are the basic requirements without which an applicant will most likely not be considered.

Students accepted into the Masdar Institute will be offered a full scholarship which includes the following:

• 100% tuition fee scholarship
• Textbooks
• Laptop
• Medical Insurance
• Housing in a single unit apartment (at the Masdar campus)
• International students will receive reimbursement of travel expenses (economy class air-ticket) into Abu Dhabi and back home after completion of studies. Travel expenses (return economy class air-ticket) back to the student’s home country at the end of the 1st year of studies will also be reimbursed.
• Reimbursement of TOEFL and GRE exam fees (upon registration at Masdar Institute and submission of original receipts)
• A competitive stipend per month (cost of living allowance).
• No bond or conditions to the scholarship upon graduation

The scholarship and benefits are subject to the student maintaining a minimum CGPA as determined by Masdar Institute of Science and Technology and satisfactory progress on their research.

Whitworth Scholarship

• For undergraduate engineering degree-level courses of any engineering discipline including MEng and MSc courses.
• Available to outstanding engineers, who have excellent academic and practical skills and the qualities needed to succeed in industry, who are wishing to embark/or have already commenced on an engineering degree-level programme of any engineering discipline.
• Full-time – £4,500 p.a.(up to 4 years-excluding industrial years),Sandwich – The award will be paid on a pro rata basis. Part-time Study – The award will be paid on a reduced basis normally £3,000p.a.
  The Whitworth Scholarship Award will not exceed a total of £18,000 for any individual. The Whitworth Scholarship Award can be held in conjunction with other awards (except any other Whitworth Award).
