FOR PRIMARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS
Ambassadors Girls’ Scholarship Program (AGSP)
- Association de Femmes Musulmanes du Diamaré (AFEMDI) is a women’s member organization located in the far north of Cameroon. They provide scholarships to girls in the Maroua area.
- Groupe Scolaire Les Hirondelles is a private girls’ school serving secondary school girls in Garoua, a northern town in Cameroon. Les Hirondelles’ sister school, Dounia Andal, serves primary school girls. Dounia Andal and Les Hirondelles provide scholarships through the AGSP for poor girls in their community whose families could not otherwise afford to send them to these schools.
- Manyu Women’s Association (MOHWA) is a women’s association working in the Manyu Division of Cameroon in the country’s southwest province, the Mefou and Afamba Divisions in the Centre Province and the Mvila Division in the southern province.
- Plan International—Cameroon, the local branch of a U.S.-based international development agency to serve Fulani and Baka girls in the eastern (Upper Nyong, Kadei, Lom and Djerem Divisions) and northwestern provinces (Boyo and Mezam Divisions).
- Serve the Orphans Foundation (SOF) is a volunteer-run, local NGO serving orphans in Cameroon’s Ndu Subdivision in Cameroon’s northwest province. SOF also provides scholarships through the AGSP to girls in the Littoral region.
Batonga
- Granting scholarships: 20 girls, all AIDS orphans or from families affected by AIDS, have been awarded secondary school or post-secondary scholarships. Once they begin their first year of secondary school in September, this same scholarship will be paid annually by Batonga until they graduate. The scholarship includes tuition, uniform, school supplies, mentoring and community awareness programs.
FOR UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS
York University
- International Scholarship Program for Africa (4). VALUE: $100,000 ($25,000 x 4 years). Must be citizen of an African country. To renew — maintain high academic standing (7.8 on a 9-point York scale) in each academic year at York
GRADUATE STUDENTS
- A programme funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, which is jointly administered in Cameroon by the British High Commission and the British Council. It allows outstanding young professionals in Cameroon, to study in the UK for up to one year.
- There are three types of Chevening scholarships: Type A: Covers tuition fees only, Type B: Full scholarships for tuition fees, monthly stipend and one-off allowances and Type C: These vary, and can cover part/full stipend, and /or allowances
- The awards are for studies in a range of disciplines, but preference is given to candidates who are likely to contribute to the promotion of human rights and good governance when they return to their countries.
- Applicants must: be an early or mid-career professional from the public or private sector, be able to demonstrate how a course of study in the UK will have a positive impact in Cameroon on your return, have a good knowledge of English, hold a first degree in any discipline and have the potential to become a leader, decision-maker or opinion-former in your profession.
KAAD Scholarship Program – Germany
- is addressed to post-graduates and to academics who already gained professional experience and who are interested in postgraduate studies (or research stays) in Germany. This program is administered by regional partner committees, staffed by university professors and church representatives. Normally documents are submitted to the committee of the applicant’s home country.

I am working for an NGO in South Africa, that amongst its work deals with orphans and vulnrable children. We have assisted these kids from early ducation with uniform, school fees and food untill now. Some of them are doing standard 10 this year and are eager to further their education.
