*Australian Development Scholarships

August 13 By Samuel 33 Comments

Australian Development Scholarships (ADS) are a bilateral program within the Australian scholarships program.

Australian Development Scholarships are a highly valued form of development cooperation that aims to contribute to the long term development needs of Australia’s partner countries to promote growth and stability. They provide opportunities for people from developing countries to undertake full time undergraduate or postgraduate study in Australia.

Fields of study are targeted to address agreed priority human resource and development needs of recipient countries, in line with Australia’s bilateral aid program.

Australian Development Scholarships equip scholars with the skills and knowledge to drive change and influence the development outcomes of their own country through obtaining tertiary qualifications at participating Australian higher education institutions and technical colleges.

Scholarship holders are required to return to their country of citizenship for two years after they have completed their studies to contribute to the development of their country.

I am really interested in this scholarship.Thank you for giving us a chance to enhance our skills to develop and improve our public sector services to the community in our home countries.
I am Mazhara from Zimbabwe.I graduated from University of Zimbabwe in July 2005 and have been working for the Meteorological Services Department which falls under the Public Service Commission for 5 years now as a systems engineer responsible for systems installations, maintenance and repair of our systems;either software or hardware. Our main speciality is telecommunication;satellite, radios, radars, sonde tracking systems and other weather special systems. My passion is to develop my career in Telecommunication system so as to enhance my skills in the network monitoring and management in the department.I had a distinction in telecommunication systems as a subject that i did as a fourth year student. So i believe i can excel in this course up to Msc level. I will realise my dream if you award a full free scholarship for either a graduate diploma/masters in telecommunication.

Again my job requires me to have project management skills, considering i am the head of the engineering branch in the department.I am also responsible in supervising projects at our major airports on meteorological instrumentations with a vision of meeting World Meteorlogical Organisation /& International Civil Aviation Organisation standards,so it is my wish to train in Project management.I also play participatory roles in some projects like Automatic weather stations(installations, maintenance and repair). This course will help me to plan, monitor and implement these national projects.

I am looking forward to your considerations so that i realise my dream and this will go a long way in benefiting the department and the nation at large
    Thank you in advance.
