Ashesi University MasterCard Scholarships

• Since the launch of the MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program in 2012, Ashesi University and the Foundation have been engaged in a partnership to support Ashesi University MasterCard Scholarshipsstudents who are unable to meet course costs. 
• Ashesi University, in partnership with the MasterCard Foundation, will award financial support to undergraduate students who have qualified for bachelor’s degree studies but are unable to meet the course costs.

Scholarship Overview

• The MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program at Ashesi University offers financial support to undergraduate students who qualify for bachelor’s degree studies but are not able to meet the course costs. 
• This program provides young Africans who demonstrate academic talent but are from economically disadvantaged backgrounds with access to relevant and high-quality educational opportunities.
• In addition, the MasterCard Foundation Scholars are supposed to serve as role models and to give back to their communities through volunteer and community service opportunities.

Am I Eligible to Apply?

To qualify for this scholarship, you must:

• have applied for and received an unconditional offer for an undergraduate program at Ashesi University;
• have an excellent academic record;
• show leadership potential and be committed to community service;
• be from a low or middle-income family, and demonstrate financial need;
• meet the requirements for an undergraduate degree at Ashesi University;
• be a student from Ghana or any other African country;
• be proficient in written and spoken English.

How Do I Apply – Next Steps

• There is no application process for scholarships at Ashesi. The Admissions and Financial Aid Office determines which award you receive based on the information in your general scholarship application. 
• This process also applies to the MasterCard scholarships.
