• The Eldred-Waverley Scholarship at Linacre College was established in 2012. It funds students from sub-Saharan Africa to study the MSc African Studies at Oxford.

What does the scholarship cover?

The scholarship will cover:

• 100% of University and college fees,
• a grant for living costs (of at least £10,397) and
• a return flight from your home country to UK. Awards are made for the full duration of your fee liability for the agreed course.

Which countries are targeted?

• You should be applying to start the MSc African Studies at Oxford and you must be ordinarily resident in sub-Saharan Africa. You should be intending to return to your country of ordinary residence once your course is completed.

Am I Eligible to Apply?

• Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of academic merit.
• This scholarship is only tenable at Linacre College. All eligible applicants will be considered for this scholarship, regardless of which college (if any) you state as your preference on the graduate application form. However, successful applicants will be transferred to Linacre College in order to take up the scholarship.
• Please ensure that you meet the selection criteria for your course (see the Courses page for more information).
• This scholarship is not open to applications from candidates who hold deferred offers to start in 2015-16.
