KNUST MasterCard Scholarships - International Scholarships

The MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology is a partnership between the two institutions that aims to contribute to societal change and transformation in Africa by educating and empowering the continent’s youth.

Scholarship Overview

The MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program at KNUST gives quality university education to academically talented yet economically disadvantaged young people from deprived communities in Ghana and Africa.
These scholarships aim to empower qualified individuals with the capacity to give back to society and bring change to their communities.

What does the scholarship cover?

Comprehensive financial support (full tuition, fully paid on-campus accommodation, learning materials, transportation, and monthly stipend).
Continued academic support through academic mentoring, virtual learning, and tutoring.
Counselling support services.
Career development services (including career guidance, professional development, enterprise development, etc.)
Regular group meetings with other scholars focusing on personal and professional development opportunities and activities tailored to build societal relationships and scholars’ capacity.
Opportunities to participate in leadership congresses, community services, mentoring (Go-Back Give-Back), and uniquely sourced internships.
The prestige of becoming part of the growing MasterCard Foundation Scholars Alumni and the Global Scholars Community family.

Am I Eligible to Apply?

To qualify for this scholarship, you should:

Have a WASSCE or GBCE or ABCE or GCE O-Level and A-Level or their equivalent results from an accredited/recognized institution. These results should not be more than five years old.
Meet KNUST’s admission requirements for an undergraduate degree program.
Have proven records of community engagement and leadership.
Have proof of and demonstrate that you have critical economic needs.
Be prepared to Go-Back and Give-Back to your community.
Not be enrolled in any other tertiary institution.

In addition to the application form, international applicants should also submit:
- The printout of the application for admission at KNUST.
- Original certificates for Senior High School results.
Shortlisted applicants will be called for interviews which will be done by an independent panel constituted by the Vice Chancellor of KNUST at the KNUST Secretariat.
The results of the scholarship awards will be published on the university website.
