Taiwan ICDF Scholarship Program

  • The Taiwan ICDF (International Cooperation and Development Fund) places great emphasis on international education and training.
  • In addition, this organization recognizes the importance of education as an important mechanism for training the workforce in developing countries.

Scholarship Overview

  • The Taiwan ICDF, in partnership with 22 renowned partner universities in Taiwan, provides scholarships for higher education programs.
  • The scholarship program applies to undergraduate, graduate, and PhD programs.

What does the scholarship cover?

A full scholarship including:

  • Airfare – an economy class return ticket for the most direct flights to and from Taiwan
  • Housing in student dorms
  • Tuition fees as required by the student’s university
  • Credit fees as required by the student’s university, according to the number of credits registered
  • Insurance (accident and medical coverage) for the entire duration of the program
  • Textbook costs
  • Allowance for food and miscellaneous living expenses is as follows:
    • NT$12,000 per month for undergraduates
    • NT$15,000 per month for Masters students
    • NT$17,000 per month for Ph.D. students

Am I Eligible to Apply?

To apply for this scholarship, you must:

  • Be a citizen of a country on the list of Taiwan ICDF Scholarship eligible countries, and satisfy any specific criteria established by your country and/or your government of citizenship.
  • Not be a national of the ROC (Taiwan), or an overseas compatriot student.
  • Satisfy the admission requirements for the partner university to which you have applied to study under a Taiwan ICDF Scholarship.
  • Not hold any other ROC (Taiwan) government-sponsored scholarship in the same year of accepting the Taiwan ICDF scholarship.
  • Be able to satisfy all the requirements for a resident visa.
  • Never had a scholarship revoked by any ROC (Taiwan) government agency or related institution, and not been expelled from a Taiwanese university.
  • Not be applying for another Taiwan ICDF scholarship in unbroken succession, i.e. not immediately after graduating from another program covered by the same scholarship.

How do I Apply – Next Steps

  • Submit your application to the ROC (Taiwan) Embassy/consulate-general or representative office in your home country.
  • This office will then conduct the first review of all applicants based on eligibility requirements and selection criteria.

Supporting Documents

  • A photocopy of the applicant’s passport, or any document showing proof of nationality
  • A photocopy of the applicant’s highest-level diploma and academic transcripts
  • Two letters of reference
  • A photocopy of an English proficiency certificate
  • Any other documents requested by the office

Note:

  • Late submissions will not be accepted and/or processed
  • All documents must be accurate and complete
  • Undergraduate programs will only accept applications from citizens of allied countries of the ROC (Taiwan)
