FOR UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS

Ashland University – Incentive Scholarships for Students from CARIBBEAN

  • Undergraduate (Bachelor Degree) Level – In addition to our regular international student scholarships, which award $2,000-$8,000/year, the University is making available a limited number of special Incentive Scholarships ranging from $1,000-$5,000/year.  These scholarships will be awarded beginning in October, 2006.  These special additional scholarships are available to students who are planning to study in our undergraduate programs, that is, the bachelor degree programs.  These scholarships will be awarded at the time of application and acceptance.  Factors which will influence the amount of the additional scholarship include academic merit, potential for leadership, and record of service to community.

Niagara College – Caribbean Scholarship

  • established an international scholarship  for students who are residents of a Caribbean country.
  • Any qualified international student who is a resident of a Caribbean country and has been admitted to an eligible program at Niagara College for September 2007 or January 2008.
  • $1,000 CDN towards your first year’s tuition fees at Niagara College, and up to an additional $1,000 CDN towards your second year’s tuition fees providing an average of 80% is maintained in the first year.

Out-of-State Tuition Waivers for International Students from the Caribbean

  • The Latin American and Caribbean Center (LACC) awards out-of-state tuition waivers annually to international graduate and undergraduate students from the Caribbean and Mexico to help mitigate the cost of studying in Florida.
  • These waivers pay the out-of-state portion of the cost of tuition for students studying in any discipline at any public university or community college in Florida.
  • The FCI Tuition Waiver is open to all students who are citizens of Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and Trinidad and Tobago, and are studying in Florida with a student visa.

York University

  • International Scholarship Program for the Caribbean (3). $100,000 ($25,000 x 4 years). Citizen of the Caribbean. To renew — maintain high academic standing (7.8 on a 9-point York scale) in each academic year at York
  • International “Circle of Scholars” Scholarship program for the Caribbean, Mexico, Central America or South America (5). $10,000 (first year of study) Citizen of the Caribbean, Mexico, Central America, or South America. Preference given to those living in the Caribbean, Mexico, Central America, or South America

College and Undergraduate Students’ Exchange Program

  • Awards available to international students from eligible countries to participate in a Canadian college or university undergraduate exchange program

FOR GRADUATE STUDENTS

Graduate Students’ Exchange Program (GSEP)

  • The Government of Canada offers scholarships as part of the Canadian Commonwealth Scholarship Program (CCSP). These scholarships are tenable at recognized Canadian publicly funded universities that meet the requirements below.
  • PLEASE NOTE: the Canadian institution must apply on behalf of the student. Awards are conditional on receipt of the appropriate visa for the student’s stay in Canada.
  • The GSEP will cover exclusively the expenses related to the visit to Canada of one eligible student per grant. The grant available per student is up to CAD $10,000 and is not taxable. Financial reporting is not required.
  • CARICOM countries include: Anguilla, Antigua & Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Montserrat, Saint Kitt’s, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, Trinidad & Tobago, Turks & Caicos

University of Westminster – Central American and the Caribbean scholarships

  • These scholarships are awarded jointly with International Students House and are open to you if you are a Central American or Caribbean national wishing to study a subject useful to the development of the region and intending to return to your country on completion of the course.
  • Amount: Full tuition fee waivers, accommodation at International Students House, living expenses and flights to and from London.
  • Eligibility: You must be from Central America, Mexico or the Caribbean and hold an offer for a full-time Masters degree at the University.
  • Criteria: Academic excellence, development potential and financial need.
