Academic scholarships: These are OAS-funded scholarships awarded to persons to undertake undergraduate or graduate studies that lead to a degree and/or graduate research at a university or higher learning institution in a Member State. Studies may be carried out by on-site or by distance education or a combination of both. The scholarship is awarded for a maximum of two academic years.
FOR UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS
Ashland University – Incentive Scholarships for Students from Latin America

Undergraduate (Bachelor Degree) Level – In addition to our regular international student scholarships, which award $2,000-$8,000/year, the University is making available a limited number of special Incentive Scholarships ranging from $1,000-$5,000/year. These scholarships will be awarded beginning in October, 2006. These special additional scholarships are available to students who are planning to study in our undergraduate programs, that is, the bachelor degree programs. These scholarships will be awarded at the time of application and acceptance. Factors which will influence the amount of the additional scholarship include academic merit, potential for leadership, and record of service to community.

Out-of-State Tuition Waivers for International Students from the Caribbean

The Latin American and Caribbean Center (LACC) awards out-of-state tuition waivers annually to international graduate and undergraduate students from the Caribbean and Mexico to help mitigate the cost of studying in Florida.

These waivers pay the out-of-state portion of the cost of tuition for students studying in any discipline at any public university or community college in Florida.

The FCI Tuition Waiver is open to all students who are citizens of Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and Trinidad and Tobago, and are studying in Florida with a student visa.

London Business School – The Latin American Club Scholarship
- Award amount: £8,000
- Eligibility: Nationals of Latin American countries
- Overview: This successful and popular student club is delighted to award the Latin American Club Scholarship for the third year running. The key objectives of this scholarship are to provide funds to enable students from Latin American countries to pursue the full-time MBA Programme at London Business School, and to continue to build the club’s activities. The recipient of the award is expected to contribute to the Latin American Club.

University of Westminster – Central American and the Caribbean scholarships

These scholarships are awarded jointly with International Students House and are open to you if you are a Central American or Caribbean national wishing to study a subject useful to the development of the region and intending to return to your country on completion of the course.

Amount: Full tuition fee waivers, accommodation at International Students House, living expenses and flights to and from London.

Eligibility: You must be from Central America, Mexico or the Caribbean and hold an offer for a full-time Masters degree at the University.

University of Pittsburgh – Latin American Social and Public Policy Fellowships (LASPPFs)

Designed to assist students interested in various dimensions of social and public policy in Latin America to pursue graduate studies on this topic in a department or professional school of the University of Pittsburgh. Applicants should have a superior academic record; be admitted to full-time graduate study in an academic department at the University of Pittsburgh to study some aspect of social and public policy; commit themselves to completing the Graduate Certificate in Latin American Social and Public Policy; be fluent in Spanish or Portuguese and English. The LASPPF provides full tuition for the fall and spring terms; stipend for eight months; medical insurance for full year; and a supply/research allowance.
