Kiplangat Korir

My name is Kiplangat Korir, a male Kenyan undergraduate student at Moi University pursuing a course leading to a degree in Electrical Engineering. I am 26 years old born in a family of six siblings. I am hoping to proceed to my fifth and final year though my studies duration has been filled with financial hardship. I am therefore requesting for sponsorship to facilitate my dream career which is in crossroads.

I believe I will one day be part of the team that will bring solutions in power system dynamic problems which require real time solution. This, I believe will be true since I hope aspire to research on generation of friendly energy both to environmental and human. This, I believe is achievable if more research in generation of clean as well as safe renewable energy is harnessed. Therefore be able to cater for my countries ever growing demand for energy by utilizing the emerging cutting edge technologies. I know owe my society a big responsibility.

Both my educational and growth life has been characterized by challenges. I sat for my O-level in 2002 and attained 56 points out of the required 84, just 4 points to the then cut- off to being a government sponsored student in a public university. But there was still an option to study as a private sponsored student were it not for the meager resources then. First my loving parents were struggling to educate the other siblings then.  After two year assisting my parents in farming activities, they advised me to apply for a course of my choice at a National Technical Collage. My stakes were high after receiving admission to pursue my dream course (I enrolled for 3 years National Diploma in electrical engineering- power option) from January 2004 up to November 2006. I did not secure a job right away like my collage colleagues, despite scoring credit pass. I guess God knew why.

Despite working with a contract firm from January 2007 up to May 2008, my thirst for higher education was still there.  That is when I applied for a degree in Moi University, they awarded me credit transfer to join 3rd year o after my exemplary performance in my National Diploma. Since then life has never been the same back at home since all my parents savings were being channeled toward my education. I have been tying to get sponsor but my search is yet to be positive. I currently have tuition fee arrears of 1050 US dollars while I am also in need of the final year tuition fees amounting to 2250 US dollars. I am currently looking forward to a better score in this level.

Yours sincere Kiplangat Korir
