FOR UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS
- EU Excellence Scholarship – Value: up to $24,000 (over 4 years)
- Awarded to student(s) with superior academic achievement entering the first year of an undergraduate degree program from a high school in the European Union and studying in Canada on a study permit. Selection based on academic standing and must hold EU citizenship. Renewal of funding for the second, third, and fourth years is contingent upon achieving a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a full normal course load (normally 30 credits) at the University of Alberta each year. Receipt of this scholarship replaces any other Registrar’s International Student Scholarship offers already made and a student cannot receive both this award and the University of Alberta Germany Excellence Scholarship.
Chinese Government Scholarship Programme (EU Window)
- This programme is a full scholarship scheme set up by the Chinese Ministry of Education for European students with the goodwill to expand student exchanges between China and the European Union. The programme will provide 100 full scholarships per academic year from 2007 to 2011. Young people from the EU countries with senior high school diploma and above are welcome to apply for this programme. The age limit is between 18 and 35 (including 18 and 35).
University of Edinburgh – Coca-Cola scholarship
- In conjunction with Coca-Cola, we offer a number of scholarships for undergraduate study in any subject offered at the University.
- The scholarships cover the full tuition fees and an annual maintenance allowance of £5,000 and are tenable for the duration of the programme of study.
- The scholarships are competitive and will be awarded to citizens from Bosnia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovenia, and the Ukraine who are accepted for admission on a full-time basis for an undergraduate course of study and whose personal circumstances would otherwise make accepting an offer from us difficult.
FOR GRADUATE STUDENTS
Eugene Poncelet and Isabel Poncelet Fund
- provides tuition awards to deserving students in The George Washington University School of Business who are citizens of the European Union. An applicant must have an excellent academic record and must be a current or incoming (accepted) graduate student (master’s or doctoral) in the School of Business (Foggy Bottom campus only) and studying or intending to study full-time. Scholarship awards shall be limited to payment of all tuition for the duration of the graduate degree. Only classes meeting the requirements of the degree shall apply and in no instance shall the scholarship period exceed three years.
- offer numerous opportunities to individual researchers to participate in a research team in another country. Funding is available for researchers to move both within Europe and internationally. And, in an effort to enhance networking between researchers, the EU provides funding for researchers coming from third countries to train in Europe. Three types of so-called ‘Individual-Driven Actions’ are available to researchers of all ages with at least four years’ experience or with a doctorate degree.
- Marie Curie Intra-European Fellowships. These fellowships are open to EU and Associated State researchers of all ages with at least four years’ professional experience or a doctorate degree. The purpose is to give them the financial means to undertake advanced training through research or to acquire complementary skills at a European organisation most suited to their professional needs. This will give researchers the final boost they need to reach professional independence. Before applying for funding, researchers must find a research team in an EU or Associated State willing to take them on for a one- to two-year stay.
- Marie Curie Incoming International Fellowships. Incoming International Fellowships target experienced researchers from outside the EU and Associated States who want to move to Europe to take part in research training. Again, fellows must have at least four years’ experience and must agree a work programme with a research organisation in an EU or candidate country before applying. The applicant applies to the Commission jointly with the host institution. Again, the Commission selects the most suitable applicant and signs a contract with the host. The fellow agrees and signs a contract with the host organisation for a stay of between one and two years.
- Marie Curie Outgoing International Fellowships. Outgoing International Fellowship allow experienced researchers from EU or Associated States to broaden their international research experience by spending time at a research centre outside the EU and Associated States for periods of between one and three years, including a compulsory return phase. efore applying for this fellowship, potential applicants must find suitable host organisations in a third country, for the so-called ‘outgoing phase’, and in an EU or Associated State, for the ‘return phase’.
University of Westminster – EU newly acceded and candidate countries scholarship
- The scholarship is awarded jointly with International Students House.
- Amount: Full tuition fee waiver, accommodation at International Students House, living expenses and flights to and from London.
- Eligibility: You must be from Bulgaria, Croatia, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Romania or Turkey and hold an offer for any full-time Masters degree.
- Criteria: Academic excellence, development potential and financial need.
- The International Visegrad Fund offers Master’s and Post-Graduate (Post-Master’s) Scholarships for study/research projects of 1 to 4 semesters. Total budget amounts to approx. 400 semesters in total. The following scholarship schemes are available:
- Intra-Visegrad Scholarships for scholars coming from one of the V4 countries who plan to study in any V4 country other than that of residence Successful applicant within this scheme will receive a scholarship of EUR 2,000/semester and the host university/institute will receive the support of EUR 1,500/semester.
- Out-Going Scholarships for outstanding students or Master’s degree holders from V4 countries to study at acknowledged universities in Albania, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia and Ukraine. Successful applicant within this scheme will receive a scholarship of EUR 2,500/semester and the host university/institute will receive the support of EUR 1,500/semester
- In-Coming Scholarships for outstanding students or Master’s (or equivalent) degree holders who plan to study at universities in the V4 region and who are citizens of the following countries: Albania, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, the Russian Federation, Serbia and Ukraine. Successful applicant within this scheme will receive a scholarship of EUR 2,500/semester and the host university/institute will receive the support of EUR 1,500/semester
Webster University (The Netherlands) – Sverdrup International Scholarship
- For study at a Webster Campus in the USA
- The Sverdrup fund was established as an endowed fund to promote and advance international awareness among the students and faculty of Webster University. Each year Webster University awards a number of students from campuses in Europe with scholarships for study at a Webster campus in the United States. The minimum award is $1250. For PhD Students
University of Sydney World Scholars
- From 2009, up to 20 new full tuition fee PhD scholarships will be available per annum for international students. Scholarships will cover the full cost of tuition fees for three years. A travel contribution of up to $2000 will also be provided to scholarship holders towards a return international air fare.
