Ghent University – Master grants for candidates from developing countries
- This programme provides master grants to candidates from developing countries who wish to obtain a master’s degree at Ghent University. The grants are available for all master programmes at Ghent University. They are awarded for the duration of the studies with a maximum of 2 years. In case of a two-year-programme the scholarship will only be paid for the full term if the student successfully completes the first year of the programme.
- The scholarship consists of an allowance of 850 euro per month plus the yearly tuition fee.

K.U.Leuven – Science@Leuven Scholarship
- Motivated and talented international students, interested in participating in an international master programme of the Faculty of Science of the K.U.Leuven are invited to apply for a scholarship.
- The amount of the scholarship can be up to 8.000 Euro for 1 year. The Board of the Science@Leuven Fund will decide exactly how much a scholarship will be. The scholarship will always cover the tuition fee for 1 year, the insurance and a basic health insurance coverage. The amount awarded for living expenses can vary.
- Most master programmes of the Faculty of Science are 2-year programmes. A scholarship for the second master year is only awarded to students having had outstanding results the first master year.
Leiden University Excellence Masters Scholarship programme (LExS)
- The Leiden University Executive Board has decided to launch a scholarship scheme: the Leiden University Excellence Scholarships (LExS). The LExS scheme will assist the most excellent students in realising their dream of studying at Leiden University. This is a strong impulse to move quality in the University up by another notch.

Maastricht University (UM) – High Potential Scholarships
- aims to further strengthen its position as a leading European university offering high-quality education with an international orientation. To this end, the university implements a proactive recruitment policy for international students, in particular for the master’s programmes. Within this framework, scholarships are made available by the UM Scholarship Fund with the aim of encouraging talented students from outside the EEA to follow a master’s programme at UM: the UM HIGH POTENTIAL Scholarships.
Rhodes Scholarship – University of Oxford
- May study any full-time postgraduate course offered by the University except for the MBA – whether a taught Master’s programme or a research degree; or a second undergraduate degree (senior status), over two years. Please note that Scholars may ONLY study for the MFE (Masters in Financial Economics) in the second year of their Scholarship. The Scholarship is for two years in the first instance, though may be held for one year only; applications for a third year of Scholarship (for those pursuing the DPhil) are considered during the course of the 2nd year.
University of Birmingham – Allan and Nesta Ferguson Charitable Trust (ANFCT)
- The University and ANFCT are pleased to announce jointly-funded postgraduate scholarships for international students commencing Masters programmes at the University.
- There will be up to five postgraduate taught scholarships. Each scholarship is worth £10,000 towards the cost of tuition fees, which is paid directly the University of Birmingham. These are for students who are both nationals of, and domiciled, in one of the countries in the East or West African region.

University of Exeter – Masters Scholarships for International Students
- The Bursaries
- The School is delighted to offer up to 12 full fee bursaries for masters students studying for programmes in one of the departments listed below. These awards will cover either the Home/EU or International fee depending on the applicant’s fee status.
- For Home/EU students the awards will be worth £4500, for International students the awards will be worth £11,100.
- Who is eligible for the awards?
- The bursaries are open to full-time and part-time students from the UK/EU and overseas who are studying for programmes in one of the departments listed above in 2010/11. These awards are open to students studying at both the Streatham and Tremough campuses. For part-time students the bursaries will be on a pro-rata basis.
- The awards will only be made to those applicants who go on to enrol within one of the above Departments at the University of Exeter.
University of Nottingham – Developing Solutions Scholarship Scheme
- The Developing Solutions Scholarship Fund and the Commonwealth Shared Scholarship Scheme will reach out to those students who have the potential to make a real difference to the development and prosperity of their home countries.
- Partial Tuition Fee Scholarships are available for new students from Africa, India and the developing countries of the Commonwealth (listed countries below) registering on Masters programmes (including MRes and Masters by Research programmes) at The University of Nottingham in September in the areas related to Environment, Food, Health and Technology.
University of Oslo
- The Norwegian Quota Scheme is a funding scheme offered by the Norwegian Government to students from developing countries, Central and Eastern Europe, and former Soviet states for studies at institutions of higher education in Norway. This funding scheme aims at offering specially designed, research-based Master’s Degrees taught in English. The Quota Scheme also offers funding for Ph.D.-programmes and a one-year course in advanced Norwegian Language. Quota Scheme applicants should come from universities/institutions with formal cooperation agreements with the University of Oslo.
Utrecht Excellence Scholarships
- The Utrecht Excellence Scholarship offers a number of highly talented prospective students the opportunity to pursue a degree in a selected number of fields at Utrecht University:
- Eligible candidates: highly talented prospective students from non-EU countries
- Amount of scholarship: 5 000 – 27 300 euro per year
- Number of scholarships/year: approximately 55
- Provided by: Utrecht University and alumni of Utrecht University
Westminster – International scholarships
- These generous awards are aimed at fully funding you if you are from a developing country and will study a full-time Masters degree at the University. Particular preference will be given to you if you can demonstrate how the knowledge you acquire from your studies will aid the development of your own country.
- Amount: Full tuition fee waivers, accommodation, living expenses and flights to and from London.
- Eligibility: You must be an international student from a developing country and hold an offer for a full-time Masters degree.
- Criteria: Academic excellence, development potential and financial need.
